It is brilliantly adapted from the original movie. Sex looks real, unlike the rest Asian movies ( OK, AV aside). Costume, scenes, objects, times are meticulously done. The only and the biggest weakness is our lack of story- telling ability that is embedded in our genetic profile.
Generalization do apply in general. Racial profile works in general sense even we beg to differ ourselves. We do not have sense of rhythm, in music, plays, movie, television... We imitate and mix JP and/or Western style..and hopefully develop our own on the way.

Mr. Tulp reminds me of Dr. Al Robbins of CSI next to a body on the table J

The portrait is commissioned to 26 year-old Rembrandt as his first important/well- paid job.

The most emphasized figure is the professor Tulp who wears long black hat and pitch dark rope. He is giving a demonstration of anatomy in the important annual conference/meeting.

Three palms are clearly lit with light source ; one with tools to dissect, the other shows authority punctuating his own words, and another with flesh from the body. They form a triangle in the centre of Rembrandt’ distinctive theaterical effect.

這幅畫是26歲的林布蘭特第一幅重要的被委託的人像畫，也就是說酬勞好的。

裡面最重要的人物，在戲劇般光源中最清楚的當然是正在解剖的杜爾普教授。黑長帽，黑袍與白色領子強調他的臉。這是一年一度重要的學術會議。

我們的視線集中於一個三角型裡，三個手掌間，一個拿著剪刀，一個打著手勢強調他的話，一個是伸得僵直，骨肉可見的屍體的手。
